Miss Oahu Filipina 2019 was the 47th Miss Oahu Filipina pageant. It was held on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort and Spa’s Kona Moku Ballroom. Glenn Sagayadoro served as event host. Additionally, it featured performances from the Linglingay Cultural Dance Troupe, Katrina Menor, Joel Tolentino, and Joylene Nina Tabon (Miss Hawaii Filipina 2018).
Maricelle Heather Redona of Kaka'ako crowned her successor, twenty-four year old Nicole Ashley Kawahara of Mililani at the end of the event. Kawahara is set to represent the Oahu in the Miss Hawaii Filipina 2019 pageant, Saturday, July 27th, on the island of Kauai.
The 2019 competition served as the first time that the pageant has been under the presidency of Raymond Sebastian and the newly inducted Oahu Filipino Community Council (OFCC) members. The Youth Task Force of OFCC organized this years' event and was headed by committee chair, Calvin Bagaoisan (OFCC Board of Director). Members of the committee also includes Marnelli Joy Ulep (Miss Oahu Filipina 2010) and Raizza Pulido (Miss Teen Hawaii Filipina 2015).
Four Contestants competed for the title - Dawn Hillary David Pascual, Nicole Ashley Kawahara, Khrizz Nicole Rodriguez, and Dessa Lyn Bauzon Millon. The Contestants competed in Pre-Pageant Interview (which was held on Friday); and Swimsuit, Talent, and a combined final presentation of Speech/Terno/Q&A (held during the pageant proper).
In addition to her crown, scepter, trophy, sash/pin, and bouquet, Nicole will receive a Round Trip ticket to Manila, Philippines; a Cash Scholarship worth $1,000, and year-long representation from OFCC. Nicole will be given the honor of representing the Filipino community-at-large on Oahu by attending events and speaking on behalf of her passion, primarily focused on health and well-being.
