1. What are the requirements to join Miss Oahu Filipina (MOF)?
To participate in MOF, contestants must meet the following criteria:

Be a natural-born female;

Have Filipino ancestry;

Be between the ages of 18 and 27 by December 31st of the Pageant year.

2. Who hosts the Miss Oahu Filipina Pageant?
The Miss Oahu Filipina Pageant, a preliminary to the Miss Hawaii Filipina (MHF), is hosted by the Oahu Filipino Community Council (OFCC). The event is typically scheduled during the summer months.

3. What are my duties as a prospective applicant/contestant?
As a contestant, you will participate in various training and cultural learning sessions in preparation for the Pageant. You will also engage in volunteer activities and events organized by OFCC or their sponsors. This experience culminates in a Girls Night Out, allowing contestants to bond and get to know one another.

4. What is the Oahu Filipino Community Council (OFCC)?
Established in 1959, the OFCC is a Filipino community organization on Oahu, Hawaii, dedicated to promoting and preserving Filipino culture and heritage. It operates under the statewide umbrella of the United Filipino Council of Hawaii (UFCH) and is affiliated with 47 local unit organizations.

5. What is the United Filipino Council of Hawaii (UFCH)?
Also established in 1959, the UFCH serves as the umbrella organization for the Filipino community in Hawaii. It includes island councils on Kaua'i, O'ahu, Maui, Moloka'i, Lana'i, and the Big Island, with a reach of over 150 affiliated unit organizations statewide.

6. What responsibilities does the winner of MOF have after being crowned?
The crowned Miss Oahu Filipina becomes an ambassador for the Filipino community on Oahu. In the month following the Pageant, she will compete in the Miss Hawaii Filipina Scholarship Program (MHFSP) to become the state's ambassador. Her role includes attending community events, speaking engagements, and planning initiatives on both local and national levels.

7. When and where will the next Miss Hawaii Filipina (MHF) be held?
The next Miss Hawaii Filipina event will take place on the island of Kauai during the week of August 3, with the Pageant proper on Saturday, August 9, 2025. Further details will be announced soon.

8. What happens when a MOF contestant becomes Miss Hawaii Filipina (MHF)?
The new Miss Hawaii Filipina will crown her island successor in a separate engagement, typically one of her runners-up. The winner will then pass on her duties and some of her prizes to her successor, embarking on her year with UFCH.
